I started this blog with the intention of writing about my story as a Mum living with depression but as I write, the more I read, the more I want to include so much more into what is more than just my story, the story of many, but a passion to make a difference. I have always wanted to write with the aim of sharing my experiences so that not only I increase the awareness of mental illness, in some way help to break down the stigma associated with mental illness and encourage other people with mental illness to share their experiences or at least write about your experiences. Through writing I have not only found a passion, but I have learnt to accept my past, my depression, and what I have been through. I no longer want to hide behind a mask of secrecy about my life, I want to make a difference in people living with depression and other mental illnesses. If through my writing I make a difference for just one person then I have achieved my aim.

I am an author, advocate, mentor, and a living example.

I have made a commitment to myself and to the thousands of people who are living with or will live with depression at some point during their life time. I am committed that through my writing, my advocacy, and support to those living with depression that I will create change in our society about how people living with depression are treated as individuals, as workers, as a family member, as a Mum, Dad, brother, sister, as anyone. I am determined that I will make a difference for all who are living with depression.

As continue to write I have many paths that I would like to go down, so in the coming months I will be posting book reviews, poetry with reflection, resources, and I will start to tell the story of others and their experiences with depression and other mental illnesses. I am not a professional, I am a writer, a Mum, and an individual who wants to share her experience, what I have learnt, and what has helped me. I hope that you not only enjoy my writings but you gain something, no matter how small or how big, that can help to change your life.

  1. Hi there, I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog.

I’m also apart of the Mental Health Writers Guild, and I have a new project coming up which I hope you’d be interested in working on.

The Mental Health Art Auction needs YOU, to post about your experiences, raise awareness, and promote the auction that will happen in August.

The auction will feature a piece of art put together by myself, which will reflect how each and every blogger taking part feels about mental health. What it means to them. This is an opportunity to get more people talking, and hopefully raising a lot of money for charity. Please check out the link and let me know if you’re interested πŸ™‚

  2. Hello,

You are a follower on my older blog, which is no longer active and will be taken down fairly soon. I would be delighted if you would maybe check out the new blog I have:

Maybe you’ll consider following this instead, on Bloglovin’ or other social media. I’m also keen to work at collaborations with other bloggers if it is ever of interest to you too.

    Many thanks,

    Blogger and BMS Student
